Welcome to Blyth Spartans Playing for Success

Playing for Success is a government education scheme which helps raise the attainment and self esteem of pupils aged 8 to 14. Exciting lessons with sport and its settings as a focus, make learning enjoyable and fresh. There are 168 Playing for Success centres up and down the country with Blyth Spartans being the most northerly and the best!

The centre here at Croft Park aims to be a hub for learning within the local community, and to promote the Spartans throughout Northumberland. The additional building work and the teaching staff at the centre are paid for by Northumberland County Council’s Extended Services and the Department for Children, Schools and Families. We are very proud to have Gareth Williams as our excellent Teaching Assistant, and be the only centre in the country whose team Captain also works for Playing for Success.
