Spartans returned to winning ways in a match which they didn’t hit the standards set in recent games but at least they came out with all 3 points.

Former Spartans stopper Craig Turns made his second Spartans debut after his recruitment from Durham City earlier in the week.

Spartans could have taken the lead after only 4 minutes. Rob Dale volleying over from the edge of the penalty area after Stephen Turnbull picked out the wide man from the free kick.

Turns was brought into action on 11 minutes. Peter Fauld’s deep centre was met by Jake Edwards on the half volley, the keeper turning the ball over the bar.

The game was held up on 20 minutes for 9 minutes when referee Mr Sharp picked up an injury.

Dale opened the scoring on 28 minutes. Mick Tait switching play from right to left, Dale pounced and ran on into the penalty side footing the ball home and then avoiding the challenge of Junior English.

Spartans increased their lead on 51 minutes. Turnbull won the ball in centre midfield and played an inch perfect pass to Chris McCabe on the edge of the Moor’s penalty area. McCabe ran on into the area before slotting home.

Spartans had chances to increase their lead, John Alexander headed over from a Josh Gillies cross. Then Dale set up Brayson who saw Dan Crane save his effort from only 6 yards out.
