Presentation Night
Blyth Spartans Junior Girls section held their
Presentation Night for what was a successful 2007/08 season at the
Social Club on Friday 6 June. With the Under 14 team being winners
of the age group Championship and the Under 10 side finishing third
in their division as well as losing out to division champions Forest
Hall 3-2 in the Shield Final the club have been pleased with progress
over the last year. The Under 12 team also did well with a creditable
fifth place in Division 1 of the Under 12 section.
It was a night for the goalkeepers with Under 14 keeper Tamsin Brown
being named their Players Player of the Year, Under 10 keeper Megan
Green being named the Most Improved player in her age group and
Under 12 keeper Jade Corbett being named both Player of the Year
and Players Player of the Year.
Jade wasn't the only player to win two awards though. Under 14 skipper
Sarah Reay won the Player of the Year for her age group and was
Top Goalscorer in her respective age group for the fifth successive
season, and Under 10 player Georgia Lyall was her sides Top Scorer
and also the Players Player of the Year.

The girls section is on the lookout for players to play at Under
10, Under 12 and Under 14 as well as encouraging girls from 5 years
old to join with a view to competing in the years ahead. More

Miss KIcks Increase Sponsorship.
Chester le Street based female football suppliers Miss Kicks have
agreed to sponsor the Spartans Girls Under 14 section for the forthcoming
season.
The company already sponsor the Under 12 set up.
The club would like to express their gratitide to Lee Sanders and
all at Miss Kicks.
Presentation Night 2007.
The club's third Presentation Night was held in the Social Club
on Friday 15 June and was a celebration of achievement at both age
groups. Put in a difficult and competitive Championship Division
the Under 12's battled to a mid table position. Whilst the Under
10 side were runners up in the Under 10 Championship.
In the Under 10 section Charlene Williamson won the Top Goalscorer
award and Bella Gongas was the Player of the Year. The most improved
player trophy went to Elle McGlen in her first season with the club
and the management team of Deborah Wall and Kate Reay chose defender
Rebecca Hills as their top player. The prestigious Players Player
of the Year went to Natasha Carr.
At Under 12 level Sarah Reay won both the Top Goalscorer and the
Player of the Year awards while the most improved Player trophy
went to utility player Abby Wilson. The managers choice went to
goalkeeper Tamsin Brown and Ashlee May was given the Players Player
of the Year award.
Blyth Spartans Under 10 girls are delighted to announce
a new shirt sponsorship with Plessey Pantry of Plessey Road, Blyth.
We would like to thank them for their support and their commitment
to the club. We hope to keep our association with them going long
into the future
