BLYTH SPARTANS JUNIOR GIRLS F.C.
Pen pics for the squads for the new season 2007/08.
Under 10’s.
The U10 team did very well last season ending runners up in the
Championship. The new group are:-
Megan Green: Megan only came to the club at the end of last season
and became a member of the squad. She has worked hard in the summer
as the squad’s new goalkeeper and will be a vital part of
the team this season.
Rebecca Hills: Rebecca was a vital defender in the 2006/07 squad.
So much so that she was the winner of the manager’s player
of the year for last season. A great asset.
Isabella Gongas: Bella is the captain of the team for the new season
and is a very important cog in the team whether she plays in defence
or midfield. A tough tackling player. Last season’s player
of the year.
Amber Witson: Amber was also a member of last season’s squad
and did very well for the club. This season she will have a more
important role for the club, probably as a defender.
Beth Davison: Another new player who has come on leaps and bounds
in the summer. She does everything asked of her and she will continue
to progress over the coming months.
Tyler McGowan: Tyler joined at the end of last season and played
for us in friendlies earlier in the year. She has the ability to
progress.
Shaunagh McGowan: Tyler’s cousin who joined at the same time.
She has great ability and will become better throughout the season.
Georgia Lyall: Georgia catches the eye straight away with her talent.
She has real potential and is one of the best players for her age
around. She will cause opposition teams problems.
The Management: Deborah Wall & Kate Reay.
Easily the youngest management team in the league which makes last
season’s achievements even more satisfying. Deborah is a FA
Level 1 coach who has just completed he BSc in Sport and Exercise
Development while Kate is due to take her level 1 soon and has just
had great success in her GCSE’s.
The Under 12’s
Last season’s squad did well to finish in mid-table of the
Championship. This season they may be a little depleted as some
players move up to the Under 14’s.
Jade Corbett: We believe that Jade is one of the best goalkeepers
around. She has natural ability and is in her fourth season at the
club.
Bethan Sproat: Bethan has started to make great strides in recent
months. She is strong and quick and will do a great job for us in
the coming months.
Bethany Scott: Bethany has moved up from the Under 10 squad and
may find life in the higher age group more challenging but she is
capable of overcoming any obstacles.
Michaela Blench: Michaela came to us from AE Phoenix and has fitted
into the club well. She can play a number of roles and is strong
in the tackle.
Rachel Short: One of the best defenders in the club with the ability
to carry the ball out of defence. She is the Under 12 captain for
the coming season.
Megan Burns: Megan is better known in the club for being a strong
defender but can also play a vital role in the squad as a striker.
Lauren Little: Lauren was the captain of the Under 10 team last
season and we feel will live up to expectations in the 12 squad
this year. Can play in defence, midfield or if necessary, attack.
Samantha Angus: Just joined the club and has quickly fitted in.
Even in the short space of time she has been with us she has looked
like becoming an asset.
Kaysleigh Hudspith: Kaysleigh will captain the side if Rachel is
absent. She has more talent than she believes and we feel will become
even better over the next few months.
The Management: Dave Wall & Steve Reay.
Dave and Steve ran the Under 12 team season and will run both the
12’s and 14’s this season. They are both FA Level 1
coaches Dave being involved in many aspects of Blyth Spartans.
The Under 14’s.
Tamsin Brown: Tas had a great season as goalkeeper for the Under
12 team last season and has the attributes to do it again this time
around.
Kate Barber: Kate is a very strong defender who joined us a couple
of years ago from Blyth Town. She is a vital member of the squad.
Catherine McGlen: Catherine is a player who has developed well as
a defender over the last year. She is tough and fearless in the
tackle.
Sarah Higgins: Sarah has recently rejoined the club after spells
with Blyth Rangers and Cramlington Blue Star. A very talented player
who will bring much to the squad.
Kelsey Henderson: Kelsey has recently joined after being very successful
with Blyth Town. She is a mainly left sided player who will be a
great asset to us.
Danielle Robinson: Joined us recently with no experience but is
a natural talent. Danielle will be very successful with us in the
coming season.
Ashlee May: Ashlee was the player’s player of the year in
last season’s Under 12 squad. A player who can contribute
much with great pace.
Sarah Reay: Sarah is a prolific goal scorer but there is much more
to her game. She has great ability and vision and she will again
feature prominently this season.
